Silicone labels are injected with silicone to add a more glossy 3D looking label. Label colors and letters are given an extra emphasis by the silicone and provides for a cleaner looking label. Clothing labels made of silicone are usually sewn onto the outside of the garment and usuallyl sewn in a place that is very visible to the eye.

Silicone is also used for key chains, hats, pocket books, bags and all sorts of accessories that might want to bear the eco-friendly name.

As the green movement grows stronger, PVC use has steadily been under attack by environmentalists everywhere. Polyvinyl chloride has been said to effect the environment and children in negative ways, by some eco-friendly advocates; so while silicone has always been the material of choice in the many other industries it has infiltrated.
