Sewn flag and printed flag

The Flag is an extremely effective give-away for any promotion and are especially effective at sporting events, rallies and parades as well as political campaigns. Many charities use flags to promote their cause, handing them out to crowds at events like the London Marathon. Flags can be sold as a charity fundraiser with sponsorship. In-store promotions will be enhanced using flags as POS decoration or as give-aways for field marketing projects. Flags are a great insert in local newspapers and for direct mailshots.

Flags can be devided to sewn flags and printed flags.
Printed flags always come with a brass grommet at top and bottom of the hoist to which the halyard is to be attached, while sewn flags come with a sewn-in luff rope that either ends in two eyes as shown here or in an eye and toggle at the top and a straight length of line at the bottom. The grommets provide the least expensive but also the least satisfactory method of fastening the halyard.

In small (courtesy flag) sizes, the sewn flag is almost twice the price of the printed one. Both become cheaper (per unit area) as the size increases, but I'm not sure that the proportion necessarily stays the same.

Experience shows that the sewn flag will last at least twice as long as the printed one. As in my opinion it looks nicer anyway, then unless you're really strapped for cash at the time of purchase I'd recommend you go for a sewn flag in preference to a printed one.
