College Annual Sports Meet held Thursday, 24 February The College Annual Sports Meet was held on Thursday, 24 February 2011 at the college ground. Pasupathy house won the first place and second third places went to Nagalingam and Selathurai respectively. Mr.Shan Thayalan was the Chief Guest. The sports meet started at 1.30 PM with band and march past and hoisting of national, college and house printed flags. Principal Mr.V Ganesharajah hoisted the national flag, Snr. Prefect Mas.Nanthikaran hoisted the college printed flag and the house captains hoisted the house printed flags. There was a close competition between the houses to win the first place. Pasupathy house finally captured the first place and followed by Nagalingam, Selathurai, Kasipillai and Sabapathy. The meet ended at 6.45 PM with the prize giving. Mrs.Thayalan gave away the prizes for the winners. Mr Shan Thayalan as the Chief Guest for the sports meet. He is the out standing sports man from Jaffna Hindu in the last 50 years. His work to support the sports in Jaffna Hindu and other parts of Northern Province of Sri Lanka were appreciated by all the Tamil Community. As friend it gives me great plessure to see him as the Chief Guest this year. As Pasupathy house captain in 1973-74 I am very proud to hear Pasupathy house to the Champions this year.
