Sort through your belts and dispose of any belt hangers you find. Wire hangers are too stiff and thin to properly hold your clothing without creasing and stretching it. Switch to wooden hangers that have a gentle curve at the shoulders that matches your own shoulders' gentle slope or skirt hangers that have clips to hold clothing.
 
Hook the top of your hangers including belt hangers over the rack in your closet. Smooth the fabric so that your clothing does not wrinkle.Grab your lightweight shirts by the collar and slide one side of the hanger through the neck hole if the neck is large enough. Slide the other side of the hanger in next.Push the hanger up through the bottom of the shirt if the neck of your shirt is too small to slip the hanger through. Reach your hand into the neck of the shirt and pull the hook of the hanger the rest of the way through the neck.Lay button-up shirts or jackets down with the button side up without connecting any of the buttons. Set the hanger inside the shirt. Pull the neck of the shirt or jacket closed over the the hanger and connect the topmost button to make it hang more securely.Straighten the shirt or jacket so that the topmost part of the shoulder rests at the crest of the hanger. Shake the hanger and the shirt quickly to help even out all the wrinkles.
