In order to manufactured a pvc label,workers should do a series of complex technics. Manufacturers will be asked to rapidly embed hidden pieces of data in each item made in large production runs of plastic products as they are moulding injection. The researchers, lead by expert Gordon Smith, have applied for patents to protect the technics, which use the effect of special external force that exploits the polarity of particles and fluids to selectively influence those particles or a polymer fluid as a product is formed by injection moulding. Professor Smith have said: “We are delighted that we have mature technology to produce the pvc labels, and the very technology can be insert to unique pieces of data in each individual product across a live injection moulding production run. The data can neither be made visible to the naked eyes nor be hidden so that it can be read by a low cost ‘black box’ scanner. “We are awared of this will be of a great interest to a range of manufacturers seeking to combat forging pvc labels in moulding injection ,products can increase security features to credit cards and we will now seek to work with such an interested company to refine the technology and scale it up from our own test runs to full blown industrial production.”
